Update, 3 September 2026: Precision Colour Printing has now formally entered administration. This article has been updated below with the confirmed details.
If you print with Precision Colour Printing (PCP) in Telford, the situation has now been confirmed. PrintWeek reported on 28 August 2026 that Michael Denny and Michael John Magnay of Alvarez & Marsal were appointed joint administrators on 27 August, following a Notice of Intention to Appoint Administrators filed the same day.
What’s confirmed
- Joint administrators from Alvarez & Marsal were formally appointed on 27 August 2026.
- PCP had approximately 160 employees at the time of appointment. No redundancies have been made at this stage.
- The administrators say they are “rapidly exploring the options available, including whether a sale of the business can be delivered.”
- Close Brothers holds a security charge over PCP’s assets, dating from June 2025.
- Work previously produced at PCP is being absorbed by other web and sheetfed printing companies, including Acorn Web Offset, Stephens & George, Walstead Group, William Gibbons and Warners Midlands.
PCP had been through three changes of ownership in 24 months, most recently acquired by Precision Colour Media in March 2026 — just five months before entering administration. In the run-up to the appointment, PCP’s managing director and finance director left the company abruptly, presses stood idle for lack of paper and consumables, and several customers had already begun moving work elsewhere. One publisher, the Mendip Times, had a 108-page issue only partially printed after PCP ran out of paper.

- Contact the administrators directly to establish the status of your artwork, stock and any part-finished work.
- Line up an alternative printer immediately rather than waiting on the administration process to resolve.
- Check any pre-paid balance or credit terms — these will typically be treated as unsecured claims against the estate, not honoured by a new supplier.
